Christmas Eve

Our Christmas Eve plan was to have my parents and grandma over to eat, watch the kids open a few gifts, and then head to Christmas Eve service at church. Due to the weather conditions (who would have ever thought we'd actually get a white Christmas in Texas????), we decided to stay in and have lots of family time. It was actually nice to just relax and not feel rushed. The kids were already all dressed up in their church clothes, so I took the opportunity to snap a few photos of them before changing them into something more comfortable for hanging out at home. Tucker so SO excited to open gifts. Watching the joy on his face was a sight to see. Macy even got excited over a few gifts, two being Yo Gabba Gabba toys. She sure loves that crazy show, which makes perfect sense since she is so into music and dancing. I hope that as the kids grow older they are better able to realize the true meaning of Christmas. My family has always been overly generous at Christmas in terms of giving, and I realized this year how tempting it is to go overboard when buying for your own kids. Jesus is the reason for the season!

Miss Snaggletooth

Macy Moo chipped her two front teeth, and one of them is definitely loose. Below lies the evidence of falling face first onto the tile floor:

Poor baby girl, or should I say poor ME (insert sarcasm), she is now a snaggletooth. I finally got in touch with our pediatric dentist (who just so happens to be on vacation until after the first of the year- it figures, right?!), and I also spoke to another pediatric dentist that a friend referred. I'm thinking I will take her into the dentist early next week instead of waiting two weeks until our dentist returns to the office. Macy doesn't seem to be in any pain, the loose tooth is what concerns me.

And I just have to share the sweetest thing that arrived on our doorstep! I have been eyeing
Lelli Kelly shoes since before Macy was born, although, I couldn't justify spending full price on them. I caught them 50% off online earlier this week and couldn't add them to my shopping cart fast enough! She just loves her girly girly shoes and pranced around in them all evening. Tucker calls them her princess shoes. What is it about a cute pair of shoes that can turn your entire day around?!!

Macy's 18 Month Check-up

Today was Macy's 18 month well baby check-up. She continues to top the charts for height.
Height 33 1/4 in- 90th percentile
Weight 23 lbs, 14 oz- 50th percentile

And here's looking back at Tucker's 18 month measurements:
Height 31 1/2 in
Weight 23 lbs, 11 oz
So Miss Macy Moo is nearly 2 inches taller than her bro was, and just a few ounces heavier!

Our new pediatrician gives the green light for continued pacifier use. She believes that it's okay as long as new teeth are coming in (since it helps soothe). SO....I don't have to stress out about that at the moment. Yes, I know she's 18 months, but then again, she's only 18 months! I don't want her to grow up faster than she has to. Maybe that pacifier is just what she needs to keep herself and her mommy happy. :)

I realized today that Macy speaks many more words than I realized. I made a list since I figured that the pediatrician would ask about how many words she knew. I stopped at word 36, but I'm sure I left out some. I've wondered if she was on track because I remember Tucker talking more at her age, but I understand that it's normal for a second child because their sibling often talks for them.

Macy has inherited a mixture of our hair. She has some tight curls in the back, but none on top! I'm hoping that the curls will eventually even out, or will they go away? I've always hated my wavy/partly curly hair! As her hair grows longer in the back, the more and more evident the curls are.

My little girl finally has a love of baby dolls! She likes to hold her babies all throughout the day, and must cuddle her baby first thing in the morning when she wakes up. Another thing she does soon after she wakes up is request to eat. She starts yelling "Eeeeeeeat!" and bangs on the refrigerator and asks for milk and usually a waffle. Macy loves giving hugs and kisses. She enjoys looking at and having books read to her. She is quite interested in Elmo, Dora, Mickey & Minnie Mouse, and Yo Gabba Gabba. As always, I feel so blessed to have such a happy healthy baby girl!

Catching up in pictures

She loves to play chase!

Macy's new hiding spot...

Why not hide in the easel???

Tucker just had to get his pic taken with baby Jesus. He is really interested in the nativity.

Silly girl!

Macy loves the Christmas tree.

Tucker absolutely loves his Thomas the Train inflatable yard art. Too bad that Dora (in the background) already bit the dust!

They are so much fun!

Pouty Face

She loves to dance dance dance!

There aren't many pictures of Tucker because he won't stay still long enough for me to snap a decent shot of him! He is one active little dude.
