Our 6 MONTH Old!

So I forgot to post last week when Macy officially turned 6 months old! I can hardly believe it's already been 6 MONTHS! I absolutely love this age. Macy talks to us now (baby gibberish is so stinking cute!), and she is so interested in the world around her. She loves observing and interacting with people. Her wide grins and giggles literally light up our world. Macy is an expert sitter, and has some impressive stomach muscles! She can sit straight up from a lying down position, so the bouncy seat and her Papasan swing are pretty useless these days. Instead, she prefers sitting up in her exersaucer, Bumbo seat, and just hanging out on a blanket with toys. We need to dust off the Jumperoo. I'm sure she will love that! She manuvers her hands quite well, showing great hand-eye coordination already. The way she picks up and inserts the paci into her mouth is so cute to watch. She also is able to hold her bottle with very little help. Tucker is right, what a big girl!

One thing we are somewhat struggling with is getting her to eat food. She resisted rice cereal until just recently, and even now, she isn't that crazy about it. We've moved on to sweet potatoes, which she frowned upon for several days, but last night she tolerated them. Crazy how each child is so different. I remember Tucker literally grabbing the spoon of rice cereal and shoveling it in his mouth the first time we attempted feeding him. And he wasn't even 5 months old at the time!

For the most part, Miss Macy is sleeping through the night. She has the occasional sleepless night (like waking up at 2 am this morning and wanting to play, which resulted in her not falling back to sleep until nearly 5am), but that isn't the norm, thank goodness! She normally goes to bed between 7:30-8:00pm and sleeps until 7:00-7:30am. And might I add, she is the world's easiest baby to put to sleep. As long as she is swaddled and has her paci, she is out within no time at all. I'm so thankful for that!

Overall, Macy is an incredibly happy baby. She squeals and squeaks with delight, blesses us with her precious smiles, and is most content when in the presence of people. Of course Mama is her favorite. ;) She is the sweetest thing.

Off to bathe the kiddos and start getting prepared for the big day ahead of us tomorrow!
