Tonight is Tucker's first night sleeping in his new toddler bed. You see, he has been sleeping in our bed since...well, pretty much since the very beginning. We didn't intend to co sleep, but that was the only way all of us could get some sleep, so we agreed to just go with the flow. It really was never an issue with me because sleeping near him just felt natural.
When we moved into our house 9 months ago, we set up Tucker's big boy room with a full-sized bed and deco that he was sure to love, all in hopes of getting him transitioned into his own room before Macy was born. We figured he was used to sleeping in our king-sized bed, so a full-sized would work just fine. Needless to say, transitioning him didn't go so well, so here we are 9 months later with him still in our bed!
A new discovery was made this week at the baby sitter's house. Tucker fell fast asleep in the toddler bed there. He was so excited and talked all about that "little bed just the right size." So the mission began to get a toddler bed, just his size! Even though I do enjoy the nightly snuggling, I am ready to have my bed back!
Today Richard disassembled Tucker's full-sized bed (bye-bye, adorable train bedding), and in moved a bed suited just for our Tuckerman: a race car bed! He loves it. Hopefully he loves it enough to fall fast asleep in it tonight...
So it seems we did things a little backwards, but hopefully we're headed in the right direction now!
