Crafty Tuesday

hersoutherncharm is hosting "Crafty Tuesday" where one can show off all things crafty and handmade. I have the pleasure of actually knowing her in real life, as she was my student teacher a few years ago. Little did I know then, that she is quite the craftinista!

This will probably be my only Crafty Tuesday post for quite some time, since I'm not all that crafty, but I do want to share what I made at the bow-making party I attended a couple of weeks ago. Many of you asked, so I deliver my first 2 attempts. These aren't the greatest looking, and I've since learned a technique that produces far fuller bows, but you better believe that I'm putting these to use after working on them for hours! The act of making bows is much harder than I expected it to be. After two hours of earnest concentration, I left with only 1 completely finished bow and 2 other partially finished bows. The consensus at the end of the party: We now realize why stores charge $7 .99+++ for those adorable boutique style bows. The price doesn't seem so outrageous after spending 2 hours, only to walk away frustrated with incomplete, sub-par bows! Thanks to my neighbor friend, Jennifer, for inviting me to get all crafty at the party. We had lots of fun! I hope to find some time to put what I've learned to use, so stay tuned for some more girly pretties!

Basic bow, love that ribbon!

I think your bows look great, BUT I'm with you on this one - it's just easier to buy them!! Some things are better left for the professionals! You did a great job though - I'm impressed!

I think the ones you made look great and are adorable! Did you buy the headband part and just clip the bows on after you made them? Where do you usually buy all her bows? I gotta get in the know on all things bows!

M, those are adorable!!! Definitely worth the $8 and more since they were homemade with love! Love the colors in the first one and I love how the second one is great for Spring. Little Macy is such a lucky girl!

Oh, and did you HAVE to say "many years ago"????? :(
