No More Paci for Piggy!

Going on 2 weeks now, Macy only uses a pacifier for nite nite and in the car. This is a huge accomplishment, considering how paci addicted she was! I'm actually still in awe over how easy it has been. It all began when I bought the book, No More Paci for Piggy, which Macy just loves. I thought we could slowly ease into her giving up the paci habit since Piggy does just that in this particular book. One morning upon on her waking up, I asked that she throw her paci in her crib. "No more paci for piggy," I said. She repeated it after me, threw her paci in the crib and clapped. When she asked for her paci throughout that day, I said it was only for nite nite time. She totally understood. When she was ready for her nap, she demanded, "Paci! Nite nite!" It's really been just that easy. Each morning she throws the paci in her crib and we go about our day. What a smart little piggy she is. Now if I will just quit carrying a pacifier with me in the diaper bag (in case of an emergency, you know)! Maybe I'm the one who has the most trouble letting go. :)

Wow! That's A HUGE accomplishment! I've never seen a child start Kinder with a paci, although I was SURE Colton was going to be the first. Oddly enough, his teacher told him she couldn't find it in his bag one day before nap and he hasn't had it since. I will have to remember the name of that book though for others, sounds like it's the perfect thing to steer them in the right direction! Great job Macy!
