Macy's 1st Birthday Party

Macy and I had combined parties this year, since our birthdays are only a day apart, and this year was a milestone year for me....30 years old! The original plan was to have Macy's party first, you know, the cake, presents, etc. before switching over to the 30th fiesta of 'Ritas & Fajitas. But- we ended up mixing the two together, which meant diving into the 'rita's and fajitas before the cake and presents. This post will showcase only Macy's party, since she is the most important birthday girl!

Macy's birthday party theme was cupcakes. Remember the cupcake party dress that I posted about several weeks ago? Well, that was my inspiration for the party. The party colors were pink- mostly hot pink and a little pearly pink thrown in here and there. I had been dying to get my hands on a giant cupcake cake pan that I spotted last year at Williams Sonoma (but I actually found a very similar Wilton pan on sale for $15 less at Sur La Table). I had some concerns about icing the top of the cake after reading many reviews about it, so my trusty grandmother stepped in and decorated the cake and cupcakes.

By the time we did the cake and presents, Macy was worn out! It was a fun day of being surrounded by family and friends. And we now have a house full of girly toys and lots of memories!

So much excitement for a tired little girl! Not quite sure she knew what to think of the crowd of people around her singing Happy Birthday!

She just had to have her paci when opening presents. She was worn 0ut.
