Macy's second day of preschool was much better! Yes, I still had to peel her off of me when dropping her off, but her teachers say she only cried for about 30 minutes then, and only a couple of other times throughout the day. Quite honestly, I was shocked! I really expected a similar report as day 1. Upon picking her up, I knew it was a good sign when I saw Ms. Leslie the director standing outside her office- empty handed, without holding Macy! Then, as I walked down the hallway I didn't hear crying. Sure enough, Macy was sitting at her table eating a snack, quiet as can be. That is, until she saw me and then the crocodile tears starting flowing! Ha, I guess she was just so happy to see her mommy that it moved her to tears!
Macy's teachers say she especially enjoyed PE and music class. That seems about right since Macy Moo loves anything that has to do with moving about, dancing, and music. They said that she did seem happy and interacted with the other children somewhat, but most of her free playtime in the classroom was spent observing others. She is such an observer, just like her Mama! Another great accomplishment is that she napped- and was actually the first one to fall asleep! I'm so proud of my big girl!
Apparently there is a little girl in Macy's class, Ella, that has really taken on the role of mother hen. On the first day, Ella spent a lot of her time concerned about Macy. She patted her back and gave her hugs all throughout the day. Macy's teacher shared a little story with us that is so cute. In the midst of Macy's crying, Ella stood up on a chair on her tip toes and tried looking out the window of the classroom. When the teacher asked her to get down, Ella replied, "I'm looking for her mommy and daddy. She's so sad and needs her mommy and daddy!" Sweet 2 year olds! Whenever we mention Ella's name, Macy is ALL smiles!
Here's hoping that she enjoys day 3!
